The image that comes to my mind at the moment when I think about the way Buddhism can help us face up to challenges in the world is the image of nineteen Buddhist monks and Aloka their dog, who have made their way on foot across America in a walk for peace.
Thank you Dominique - this is is beautifully expressed. Marian Wright Edelman famously said
"If you don't like the way the world is, you change it. You have an obligation to change it. You just do it one step at a time". These Buddhist monks have taken many, many steps in the direction of the peaceful world many of us seek. Marian Wright Edelman also said “You can't be what you can't see.” By demonstrating peace with every step, these monks satisfy our longing to see how to be in a world that can be so confusing.
Beautifully put Dominique, as usual. Thank you .
Right on!
